Though this book was 600 pages I read it in 2。5 days。 I couldn't put it down。 I was engaged from the first to the last page。 I heartily recommend this thriller！ The characters were believable and well developed and some seemed like friends by the end。 The action was fast paced especially as it neared the climax of the story。 I hope that something like this never really happens in real life but it could。 Though this book was 600 pages I read it in 2。5 days。 I couldn't put it down。 I was engaged from the first to the last page。 I heartily recommend this thriller！ The characters were believable and well developed and some seemed like friends by the end。 The action was fast paced especially as it neared the climax of the story。 I hope that something like this never really happens in real life but it could。 。。。more

This novel has received many 5 star reviews and has sold millions of copies and so my review feels like the exception rather than the rule。The book takes us to a world that is concerning。 People are either good or bad。 If your good you are probably American; Christian and linked to the military or secret service。 You will make many spur of the moment decisions which could be both illegal and endanger others but you are always forgiven as you are doing this with good intentions。 If you are bad （m This novel has received many 5 star reviews and has sold millions of copies and so my review feels like the exception rather than the rule。The book takes us to a world that is concerning。 People are either good or bad。 If your good you are probably American; Christian and linked to the military or secret service。 You will make many spur of the moment decisions which could be both illegal and endanger others but you are always forgiven as you are doing this with good intentions。 If you are bad （mainly non Americans and non Christian） you are obsessed with America and want to destroy all it stands for。 This xenophobic and jingoistic view is bad enough coming from an author that sells millions of books but also coming from an ex president makes you worry about the current American pysche。The book itself is also poorly written。 A very predictable plot sees the reader 4-5 chapters ahead of the narrative and the ending can be foreseen from the early chapters。 This takes all the suspense out of this thriller。 The authors must have doubts about their readers attention spans as we have lots of sections repeated。 Characters are introduced and then re introduced each time they appear （I lost count of how many times we are told the president was once "in the Teams。" The book is also about 100-150 pages too long。The quality of recent James Patterson books seems to rely on his co authors and this collaboration with Bill Clinton seems to bring out the worst。 Other people clearly love these books and I'm sure there will be others but these just aren't for me。 。。。more
